You have a number of options when it comes to deciding what you’d like to do with your Ford vehicle before your lease ends. Here at Birchwood Ford, we like to be as transparent as possible and make sure you have a complete understanding of all the options available to you.
When you return your Ford vehicle, Ford Canada will perform a vehicle inspection to determine the wear and tear and the residual value of the vehicle. This inspection will take into consideration things like:
After conducting this inspection, Ford will be able to properly determine all of the options available to you. It is highly recommended to have an inspection performed by us prior to the end of your lease. This way you have enough time to prepare your vehicle before lease end, while you still have all options available to you.
Prior to the end of your lease, you have the option of breaking your lease early. There is currently a high demand for used vehicles. This has provided us with the unique opportunity to get our Ford customers out of their lease earlier than they expected and into a new car of their choosing at a similar or less lease rate.

In the time it takes to inspect your vehicle, we can show you the new makes and models available to you and give you the opportunity to choose colours, trim options and even test drive a vehicle if you choose to do so.
We’d love to help show you how to take advantage of unexpected equity in your vehicle. If our inspection determines that there is excess wear and tear or kilometers on your vehicle, Birchwood Ford may be able to cover the residual lease buyout of your vehicle and any extra charges due to wear and tear or kilometer count. This can only be done if you choose to break your lease early and return your vehicle with our current offer.
If you choose to keep your vehicle right to the end of your lease, you have the option of returning your vehicle to the Ford dealership that you originally bought it at. Upon return, Ford will perform a vehicle inspection to determine the current state of the vehicle. Any penalties or damages to the car will have to be addressed, so it is suggested to get the inspection done prior to the end of your lease in order to prepare the appropriate claims in accordance with your insurance policy.
At the end of your lease, you also have the option to buy your Ford vehicle outright. The price you will pay for your vehicle will be the determined by residual value of your Ford lease.
