Birchwood has an exciting opportunity for a General Manager Jaguar Land Rover (JLR). The General Manager will lead a team in a new state-of-the-art facility (estimated time of opening February 2021) located adjacent to the Tuxedo business park and close to Kenaston Common retail space. Primary responsibilities include visionary leadership to drive performance, developing and executing key dealership vision and strategies, oversight of JLR P&L, delivering profits and return targets. The successful candidate will be a proven leader, committed to fostering collaboration & trust with our partners and exemplify the Birchwood values including personal leadership, trust & respect, continuous improvement and generosity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership – Provides visionary leadership to the JLR team, coaching the team to high performance and alignment with Birchwood culture.
  • Customer Service – Makes exceptional customer service a priority for JLR
  • Sales & Performance – Ensures dealership achieves JLR and Birchwood targets, while continually monitoring market conditions. Ensure JLR team follows established policies and procedures, and has sound Controls in place.
  • Planning – Manages with full P & L responsibility for the JLR business. Ensures the portfolio performs within established risk appetite of the business.
  • Relationships – Fosters and sustains long term positive relationships with JLR and suppliers.

Essential Skills / Details

  • Post-Secondary Education in business-related field or equivalent certification from Georgian College Automotive Dealership Management Program.
  • Clear Credit and Criminal Record Check.
  • Valid 5F drivers licence and clear drivers abstract
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership position in automotive sales management or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to engage team members and create a high performing culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine Luxury customer needs with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service
  • Exceptional relationship management skills built on negotiation, communication and conflict resolution.
